His first four years Jim served as the general agent and his final year as a field agent in the Chicago area. Due to health concerns and family in Mesa, Jim and his wife Diane felt the transition would be best to step down a full year before to aid the transition for the general agent Louis White (former AGA) here and to get back into the routine of a field agent.

Prior to joining KofC, Jim served various roles with New York Life for 14 years, earning New Organization Agent of the Year and becoming a Million Dollar Round Table Agent. Only 1% of all agents in the industry have earned the MDRT designation. He joins those agents in our agency who have earned this honor as well.

When the world faced the changes due to Covid, Jim realized the changes needed working for our members in the virtual and in-person world. Since early 2021, Jim has earned four Life Coaching designations to better serve our members. As Jim has said, “With the Knights of Columbus, we are not order-takers just selling products. We are life coaches based in our Catholic Faith. We need to ask deeper questions to truly find out what our brother knights and their families need so they are protected when the events happen which forever change their lives.”

A move to the desert is not a total change for Jim and Diane. Jim was a swim coach for 37 years and in the 1990’s was named one of the top 100 swim coaches in America. He served as an assistant at The University of Arizona from 1989 to 1993 prior to becoming the Head Women’s Coach at the University of Illinois where he still holds the title of highest winning percentage in the history of their program.
